Firmware Update

We are committed to continuously improving our machines based on user requirements and feedback. Our goal is to provide the best performance and user experience, integrating the latest features to make your machine even more accurate, faster, easier to use, and even more capable of producing strong, reliable parts.

There are two firmware versions: one for older V3 models and one for newer ones.

Before you begin – safety and risk

Read the Safety – Before You Begin article to understand the hazards involved in working on the Vision Miner 22IDEX V3 – including electrical, thermal, mechanical, and chemical risks. All procedures in this wiki are provided as recommendations only. By choosing to follow any procedure, you do so at your own risk.

Install the correct firmware version

It's critical to install the correct firmware. Using the wrong version can cause printer malfunctions or even damage.

There are two ways to update the firmware on your Vision Miner 22IDEX V3:

  1. Automatic Firmware Update: This involves using the Web Interface, where the machine automatically installs the necessary files.
  2. Manual Firmware Update: This involves using an SD card to replace old files with the new ones.

In both cases you'll need to download the latest version of firmware first.

1. Automatic Firmware Update

  1. Download the correct firmware package for your machine:

  1. Go to the machine's Web Interface.
  2. Navigate to the Machine-Specific tab.

  1. Select Install Update and choose the downloaded ZIP archive.

  1. Wait for the files to transfer.
  2. Once the files have transferred, you will receive an update notification.
  3. Confirm the update, and the machine will automatically run the update and restart.
  4. After the machine restarts, return to the machine's Web Interface.
  5. Go to Dashboard > Macros > System > Settings > Firmware.
  6. Click Delete Old Files to remove all unnecessary files from the previous firmware.

  1. Refresh the web page to access the updated Web Interface.
  2. Once this is done, your machine is ready for use.

2. Manual Firmware Update

  1. Power off your machine and carefully eject the SD card.

  1. Create a backup of the current contents as a safety measure.
  2. Download the correct firmware package for your machine:

  1. Unzip the downloaded file.
  2. Drag and drop all the folders from the downloaded file to your SD card, replacing all existing folders except the user folder.

Do not delete the user folder

The user folder contains your specific machine settings, macros, and calibration data. Do not delete or overwrite this folder.

  1. Safely insert the SD card back into the mainboard.
  2. Power on your machine.
  3. Connect to the printer's Web Interface and open the console.
  4. Type the following command exactly as shown and press Enter:

  1. Wait for the firmware update process to complete. The connection will be lost during this process.
  2. Reconnect to your machine through the Web Interface. The update is now complete.
