Static IP

This guide explains how to assign a static IP address to your Vision Miner 22IDEX V3 printer for consistent network connectivity. When connecting via Wi-Fi client mode or Ethernet mode, you can use the machine's name (22idex.local) or its IP address. However, some routers may change the IP address assigned to your machine, making it necessary to assign a static IP address.

Before you begin – safety and risk

Read the Safety – Before You Begin article to understand the hazards involved in working on the Vision Miner 22IDEX V3 – including electrical, thermal, mechanical, and chemical risks. All procedures in this wiki are provided as recommendations only. By choosing to follow any procedure, you do so at your own risk.

Connecting to Your Printer

  1. Using Machine Name:
    • Open your browser and type 22idex.local.
  2. Using IP Address:
    • Type the IP address that the machine obtained from your network.

Assigning a Static IP Address

Preferred Method: Network Device Configuration

It is highly recommended to assign a static IP address through your network device or by contacting your system administrator. This method ensures that your network manages IP address assignments effectively.

  1. Access Your Router Settings:
    • Log in to your router's web interface.
    • Find the section for IP address assignment or DHCP reservations.

  1. Assign Static IP:
    • Locate your 22IDEX V3 in the list of connected devices.
    • Assign a static IP address to your machine.
  2. Save Settings:
    • Save the changes and restart your router if necessary.

Alternative Method: Machine Configuration

If you cannot assign a static IP address through your network settings, you can request a static IP address directly through the machine. Note that this method may cause conflicts within your network if the router assigns the same IP address to another device.

Potential IP conflicts

Assigning a static IP address through the machine itself may cause conflicts if the router assigns the same IP address to another device. Use this method only if you cannot configure static IP through your router.

  1. Access the Web Interface:
    • Navigate to the machine's Web Interface.
    • Go to Macros > System > Settings > Network.

  1. Set Static IP Address:
    • Select Assign Static IP.
    • The machine will remember and request the current IP address as its static IP.

Important Considerations

Assigning a static IP address through the machine itself may cause conflicts if:

  • The static IP address was assigned by the router.
  • The machine tries to request an IP address that is already in use by another device.

To avoid such conflicts, it is recommended to:

  • Assign a static IP address through your network settings.
  • Alternatively, connect to your machine using its name (22idex.local).
